The on-loan central defender had a solid enough debut

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – What to say about Mignolet that hasn’t been said before? Indecisive, shouts a lot but with little point and regularly fails to claim high balls. Had next to nothing to do but manages to create problems where there weren’t any before. Rating – 5

Nathaniel Clyne – A very good return from Clyne, who managed the – allegedly – impossible and kept Dimitri Payet quiet. That Payet was most dangerous from set-pieces speaks volumes for Clyne’s performance. Oh, and he is gradually improving in getting forward too. Rating – 7

Dejan Lovren – Like Clyne, Lovren’s return was very, very solid. Nothing spectacular, nothing showy, just simple, straightforward defending. Rating – 6.5

Steven Caulker – Despite having seemingly spent most of his early Liverpool career playing as a striker, the centre back had a fairly impressive full debut. Caulker didn’t look flustered and dealt well with most high balls. Could’ve given a penalty away in the second half, and needs to stay clear of the individual errors our defence has become synonymous with. Rating – 6.5

Brad Smith – It wasn’t Smith’s best display under Klopp, but he certainly wasn’t quiet. The Aussie looks a good fit for Klopp’s Liverpool team and he was heavily involved throughout. He offers a similar threat to Moreno getting forward (although, like Moreno, he needs to work on his delivery) but he is much more solid at the back. Could Smith save the Reds having to look for a new left-back, or at least competition for Moreno? Rating – 6.5

You gave Benteke a far bigger score than he deserved, personally minus 4.5 is all I’d have given.

I think it high time for klopp to allow those young players to play during premier league than the old players since the older ones can’t deliver anymore, the young players should be allowed to play against Leicester.Klopp should think about it

I strongly think its time for those youngstars to start playing in the premiere league since their seniors cannot deliver someone like joao texeira, Brad Smith should start for the reds at least against leicester on tuesday night pls klopp give them more game time and see how they deliver cos there are young and pacy

jurgen klopp should continue sticking with firminho to be the main man upfront because we can no longer rely on the services of benteke for now maybe latter and hope coutinho return fast as his presence again will boolster Liverpool for more fierce premiere league challenges and too with sturridge, divock origi cos we need them.
