Liverpool are already showing signs that Jurgen Klopp is having a positive effect

Despite having only been at the club since last October, Reds star Emre Can believes that we’re already seeing signs of progress under Klopp.

The 48 year old has clearly changed the way Liverpool play, for the better, and Can states that this is slowly having a positive effect on results too.

Ahead of his country’s international against Italy last night, Can told kicker“You should not only look at the standings.

“We still have to play one, two matches more than the teams ahead of us, we can still gain a few spots. Thus we have achieved something under Jürgen Klopp.

“You should look at the football we have played in recent weeks. We’ve made a huge step forward as a team and have put in good performances most of the time.

“A berth in an international competition clearly has to remain our goal. Our problem is that we are just not consistent enough.

“We follow up two good matches with one bad match too often. We need to manage to be consistent for a longer period of time. This also applies to me.”

While the results have been largely improved lately, Can is right in that those blips keep cropping up but, thankfully, with much less frequency.

And the midfielder himself can certainly take some of the credit for that, after finding himself restored to his favoured position under Klopp as he now approaches 100 games for the club.

With a Europa Leaguecquarter-final clash still to contest against Borussia Dortmund and the brief hope of finishing in the top four, there is still plenty to play for this season and Jurgen Klopp has to take most of the credit for that.
