The Polish midfielder is on the Reds’ radar for a summer move

It promises to be a very busy summer for Jurgen Klopp, with a number of players rated likely to be moved on but we’ve yet to see much solid information in the way of players coming into the club.

At this stage, we know that Marko Grujic and Joel Matip are already signed up, and we also know that both have Klopp’s seal of approval as players that he admires a great deal.

And today, a couple of other names have resurfaced that seem to have ‘Klopp-type players’ written all over them: Piotr Zielinski and Jonas Hector.

Zielinski is a name that has been doing the rounds in recent months, with Liverpool known to have scouted the Polish international who is currently on loan at Empoli from his parent club Udinese.

The 21 year old midfielder has been highly impressive in his 2-season loan at the Serie A side, where he has thus far played almost 60 games. With 10 caps already for a very strong Polish national team, there is no doubting the youngster has some quality and Liverpool are reportedly already beginning to enter into talks for the player, according to the Daily Mail.

Elsewhere, Bild are claiming that Jurgen Klopp will be looking to bring in fellow German Jonas Hector in the summer, potentially as a direct replacement for Alberto Moreno.

Klopp has persisted with the 23 year old but Moreno continues to suffer lapses in concentration and his form has dipped in the same way it did at this stage last season.

Hector is a 25 year old German left-back, currently plying his trade at FC Koln in the Bundesliga, where he has impressed greatly, earning 10 caps for the German national team over the last 2 seasons.

With well over 100 games for the German side, since making his debut in 2012, the defender looks set to go on to make a name for himself and, at 6’1, would fit comfortably into something that Klopp is clearly looking to build: a much taller Liverpool team.

Strangely, the Germany international is reportedly available for as little as £6 million. And if he can be an improvement on Moreno, he’d certainly go down as a bit of a bargain next summer.
