The Liverpool star has been one of the highlights of Klopp’s tenure

It was at the beginning of Jurgen Klopp’s reign at Anfield that Live4Liverpool.com insisted that Adam Lallana could develop into the perfect ‘Klopp’ player, in that he was hard-working, had the right attitude and was technically gifted; a perfect combination for any manager.

And things appear to have really come together for Adam Lallana in the past six months, as he has been named the PFA Player of the Month for March 2016. The 27 year old has gradually turned his Liverpool career around under Klopp’s watchful eye and appears to be one of the 48 year old’s number one players.

Quite the turnaround for a player that many Reds considered a vast waste of money by the end of last season, Lallana took over 41% of the vote after a month that saw the midfielder start five times, scoring once, and playing both of the first two England friendlies in the past 10 days.

Lallana will no doubt be one of the first names on the team sheet as Spurs arrive at Anfield on Saturday evening and his manager has named the midfield star as one of the most pleasant surprises he’s had since joining the club in his pre-match presser today. He said: “I always knew how strong he is. I knew more about him when he played for Southampton. He wrote a very nice story there and I’m really, really happy that a few more people recognise what a great player he is.

“When I saw the [England] game against the Netherlands… he is a really good player. And a nice guy. So it is absolutely deserved. [The award] is nice, congratulations!

“Hopefully he can win it again in April! That would be good for us.”
