The defensive pair were largely untested but Sakho scored the crucial second before half time

GK/Defence

Simon Mignolet – Rarely will Mignolet have enjoyed an easier night, and certainly not in a derby but that’s how it ended up. There is literally nothing to say about his display. Rating – NA

Nathaniel Clyne – Clyne enjoyed a comfortable night as well, but had a bit more to do than the man behind him. Kept both Lennon and Miralles quiet in the first half and spent most of the second standing outside the Blue’s box. Rating – 7.5

Dejan Lovren – Another assured and easy display to add to the list for Lovren, and Lukaku adds to a growing list of top class strikers that had spent the match in his pocket. Rating – 7.5

Mamadou Sakho – Thankfully Sakho turned up with his good head on, looking mostly comfortable before his goal saving tackle on Lukaku saw him spring into life. A second goal in less than a week will have done his confidence wonders as well. Rating – 7.5

Alberto Moreno – And if Clyne was standing outside the away side’s box most of the game, Moreno spent at least half of his time in it, looking to shoot or set up team mates. That blip a few weeks ago is starting to look just that. Rating – 8
