Liverpool defender Kolo Toure believes that Jurgen Klopp will look to strengthen his squad next season and he is confident the German will make improvements to make the team stronger.

The Ivorian was perhaps the only player to come out with any credit from the 3-1 defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League final last night and after the match, he was interviewed by the club’s official website saying the young team will improve next campaign:

“The manager has only been in charge for [seven] months and we have played in two finals, which is very good. We have a young team and we’ll learn from defeat to be better next season. The future is bright at Liverpool.”

“We have good staff, a good manager and great young players. Maybe the manager will bring a few players that he thinks can improve the team. This team will be really strong next season.”

It is looking less and less likely that the 35 year old will be staying at Anfield as he has yet to agree a new contract despite his current deal running out at the end of next month. There is no doubt the squad needs more players with experience like Kolo if they are to compete anywhere near the top of the Premier League next campaign. After the match Jurgen Klopp was clear in saying he would be making changes to the team with some transfers this summer, and Reds supporters will be hoping he makes the right decisions so the club improve on the joint worst finish of eighth in the Premier League.
