Former Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has backed manager Jurgen Klopp to become a legend at the club.
The Frenchman believes that the Reds need someone like the German who can handle big expectations and big reputations. He says that if he is given a full pre-season to implement his ideas and philosophy at the club, he can improve the Reds significantly. He told Goal.com:
“I think Liverpool needs someone like him [Klopp], somebody passionate who is used to managing clubs with huge reputations. He makes miracles. If you let him build his team and make a real preparation, I think it can go very well.”
“He has what it takes [to lead Liverpool], he returns to the philosophy of the club. He can become a legend.”
Klopp has already masterminded two cup runs to the Europa League final and the League Cup final in his eight months in charge at Anfield and Reds fans will be hotly anticipating the new season as the German manager gets the opportunity to reshape the squad in order to improve on the eighth placed finished the Reds achieved in the Premier League last season. The Reds first game of the new campaign will be a pre-season friendly next month against National League side Tranmere Rovers on July 8th.
