Porto will refuse to negotiate with Liverpool over the transfer of Reuben Neves, according to Abola. The Portuguese newspaper believe the 19 year old is one of the few players they will not sell at any price this summer.

The Portuguese club are under severe financial pressure after failing to qualify for the Champions League, following their third place finish in the Primeira Liga behind Lisbon clubs Benfica and Sporting.

They are willing to sell other players including other stars linked with moves to the Reds such as midfielders Hector Herrera and Nacine Brahimi but Neves is not a player they are prepared to let go.

Tipped as one of Europe’s most exciting young midfielders, Porto believe Neves’s value will only go up and are not going to allow the player to leave before he reaches his peak market value. The club are trying to meet their UEFA financial fair play obligations and an exodus of other players is expected.
