Sky Sport Italia journalist Massimo Ugolini has said that representatives of Napoli and Porto will meet today regarding finalising the transfer of Hector Herrera to the Serie A side.

The 26 year old has been heavily linked with Liverpool in recent days but Ugolini told Radio Kiss Kiss (quotes via tuttonapoli.net) that Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli will meet with representatives from Hector’s current team Porto. There is still some negotiations required though as there is a €5million difference between the two clubs in the player’s valuation:

“Tomorrow [June 9th] may be an important day for Herrera, with Guintoli going to Milan, to meet the intermediaries in the transfer. There is still a €5 million difference but Napoli want to close the deal as soon as possible.”

Herrera is currently away at the Copa America with Mexico. His national side beat Uruguay 3-1 in their first match, with Herrera on the score sheet scoring in the 91st minute to seal the win, and they will face Jamaica in their second match tonight in California. The other team in their group is Venezuela, who beat Jamaica 1-0 in their first game of the tournament.
