Liverpool are interested in signing another player who was on loan at Empoli last season. Although linked with the Reds in the past, calciomercato.com have suggested that Roma are considering whether to sell Leandro Paredes in order to fund other purchases this summer, with Liverpool, Sampdoria and two other prominent Premier League clubs in the running for the player’s signature.

The Argentinian made 33 appearances for Empoli last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist. The 21 year old played alongside fellow Reds target Piotr Zielinski in central midfield last season for the Azzurri but has now returned to his parent club Roma to be assessed.

Roma manager Luciano Spalletti only took over from Rudi Garcia in January and has yet to see the midfielder in training. The club are hesitant in selling the talented Argentine before Spalletti tests the player in preseason training according to the Italian website, but they are fully aware that they need to sell before they buy this summer, and could offload him sooner rather than later.
