Liverpool have offered a four year contract to Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, and a yearly salary of €2million or £1.6million, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.

A £30,000 a week salary doesn’t sound an awful lot but the Italian newspaper reports that the figure has priced out Serie A side Napoli in the deal for the Poland international.

Zielinski’s agent Bartolomiej Bolek has already commented that the player won’t be leaving Udinese for Napoli, and with a £9.5million offer said to be on the table from Liverpool, it looks as though the Reds are closing on Jurgen Klopp’s second major signing of the summer following the arrival of goalkeeper Loris Karius from Mainz.

The 22 year old’s future will be decided after the European Championships once Zielinski’s participation at the tournament with Poland is over. The midfielder is said to want to focus on his football during the Euros rather than being distracted by speculation about a move away from Italy.
