Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli could be returning to Italy with Inter Milan on loan, according to Tuttosport. The Italian newspaper believes manager Roberto Mancini is keen to be reunited with the player he managed during his first spell at Inter and at Manchester City.

The Italian is keen to shore up his attacking options and although the Serie A side now have more money at their disposal after the club’s takeover by a Chinese consortium Suning, Mancini believes the return of Balotelli would be cost effective and relatively low risk. It is possibility that Mancini has already raised with Inter CEO Michael Bolingbroke. Whether Liverpool would be keen on another loan deal is uncertainĀ as they could end up with the striker back at Anfield once again if the move doesn’t work out.

Balotelli played for Inter Milan for three years between 2007 and 2010, but also had two spells with city rivals AC Milan. If he does return, it will mean that the 25 year old would have played for both Milan clubs twice, once permanently and once on loan. One big obstacle will be winning over the fans who have not forgiven him for signing for rivals AC Milan.
