Napoli are on the verge of completing a deal for Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski, according to Sportmediaset in Italy. The Italian TV station believe that the 22 year old will have a medical with the Serie A club today.
The saga surrounding the Polish international has been ongoing for a number of months with reports suggesting the midfielder was holding out for a move to Liverpool.
Zielinski was even seen wearing a Liverpool shirt but it became clear that the Reds were not going to meet Udinese’s demands for the player resulting in a stalemate between Zielinski and his club. Finally though, it looks like the impasse has come to an end and Zielinski will now make the move to Naples rather than to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp has recently stated he is still interested in making more moves in the transfer market before the end of August but it looks likely he will be seeking a defender rather than another midfielder.
