Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli has been linked to a move to the MLS in the Spanish media. Newspaper Marca mentions that the 25 year old could head to the United States rather than staying in Europe.

In recent days the Italian has been associated with a move to Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam. The Eredivisie side are looking for a replacement for Arkadiusz Milik who moved to Napoli for €35million at the start of the week.

Any move however is predicated on Ajax reaching the group stages of the Champions League so they could finance Balotelli’s wages. In the past year the forward has been linked with both New York City FC and Orlando City but no offer has been made from the US yet.

Balotelli is believed to have already rejected a move to Besiktas after telling the Turkish champions that he wants to remain in one of Europe’s top leagues which would suggest a move to the MLS may not be his first choice.
