Benfica attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca is waiting on papers to finalise his switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo. Speculation in a number of Portuguese news outlets have connected the Brazilian with a move to Liverpool in recent weeks but it is believed visa problems have led to the player moving to the Championship instead.

After failing to gain the required work permit to play in the Premier League, Benfica and Talisca’s agent Jorge Mendes believe they are in a better position to gain a visa for the midfielder to play in the Championship with Wolves.

Mendes has close ties with Wolves’ new Chinese owners Fosun International and it looks like the strong connections have helped the deal to go through. The confirmation regarding the work permit is expected today, according to O Jogo and the player is currently training away from the first team squad as he waits for news regarding the transfer.
