France World Cup winner Christophe Dugarry believes Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho should be talking with his manager Jurgen Klopp about his playing situation rather than with Reds fans via social media.

Sakho shared a string a messages on Snapchat at 3am on the day of the Hull City match describing how he had been fit for three weeks and that he wanted to correct the “lie” that had been told. Speaking to French TV station SFR Sport, Dugarry criticised Sakho’s actions:

“He doesn’t need to talk to his fans, he needs to talk to his coach. What is he doing talking to his fans at three in the morning? With emojis and all that? We don’t give a s**t. We’re not at the circus. If you have a problem, go talk to your coach, find a solution, solve the problem.”

Quizzed after the Hull match about the social media outburst, Liverpool manager Klopp described it as “not positive” and that he would be dealing with the incident soon.

Sakho is a high profile figure in France after captaining PSG when he was 17 and making 28 appearances for his country. This latest confrontation with Klopp will almost certainly dash any lingering hopes the 26 year old had of getting back into the first team under the Reds boss.
