Things are not getting any easier for Lazar Markovic during his loan spell at Sporting Lisbon. Considering he is a former Benfica player, it was always going to be an uphill struggle to endear himself to the Sporting fans, but after criticism from his manager about his performance last week against Estoril, he was booed after failing to pass the ball against Legia Warsaw in the Champions League last night.

The Serbian winger has not started a game for Jorge Jesus’s side yet and after coming on as a 67th minute substitute against the Polish outfit, he did not impress the home fans, reports the Record newspaper, after failing to give a pass to striker Bas Dost in the 82nd minute and proceeding to lose the ball.

The 22 year old returned to preseason with Liverpool after an injury hampered loan spell at Fenerbahce but did not do enough to impress Jurgen Klopp to remain as part of the Reds squad for this campaign.
