A representative of Hoffenheim centre back Niklas Sule has told SportBild that he expects Chelsea to return with a bid for the German international next summer. The Blues reportedly made a ‘concrete’ bid for the 21 year old before the end of the transfer window according to Bild but the defender opted to stay in Germany to continue his development.
Sule’s representative Karl-Heinz Forster told Bild that Chelsea will keep tracking Sule in view to making another offer for him at the end of the campaign.
“Yes, the interest was there. And the English have made it clear that their interest next year is still valid.”
Liverpool, along with three German clubs, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, and three Italian sides, AC Milan, Napoli and Roma, are all believed to be in the running for Sule’s signature but they will have to wait to land their man.
The German wants more game time playing at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga before making the next step in his career, and it is likely that the the Reds will be among a large number of clubs who will be competing to sign him. Sule only made his competitive international debut for Germany against Norway a few days ago.
