Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius says he is not sweating over whether he will start against Manchester United on Monday night.

Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has said that he would decide on the club’s number one choice in the international break after seeing both Karius and Simon Mignolet in action this season. The German told the club’s official website that it is normal not to know who will be starting even a day before the match:

“Sometimes you know [if you are starting] earlier, sometimes you don’t. Most of the players don’t know the day before, but it’s not really a problem. You prepare for the game anyway so it doesn’t really make a difference if you know a month before, a week before, a day before, because it won’t really change anything in your training.”

If Karius does start it will be surely one of the biggest tests of his young career so far and no doubt Jose Mourinho’s will test the 23 year old under the high ball both from open play, but in particular from corners and set plays.

The young keeper has so far conceded two goals from corners in his first two league starts, and looked particularly hesitant when coming to collect crosses in both games. His temperament will certainly be tested if he does indeed start on Monday.
