Swedish website Matchdax say that Liverpool representatives have held a “secret meeting” with AIK Solna regarding the signing of young striker Alexander Isak.

The Reds, along with a host of top European clubs, have been linked with a move for the 17 year old but Matchdax say they received information from two sources, one close to AIK, and another “familiar” with Liverpool, that the two clubs held talks before AIK’s match against IFK Gothenburg on Monday.

Matchdax have looked for confirmation by reaching out to AIK Sporting Director Bjorn Wesstrom and asked two questions where Wesstrom refused to deny the meeting took place. When asked whether he had held the meeting with Liverpool representatives, Wesstrom replied

“I do not comment in the first place. AIK Soccer communicate as usual when there is something to comment on, that is, when it is confirmed.”

When asked to confirm whether AIK had held talks with any club regarding Alexander Isak, Wesstrom said

“I neither confirm or deny the information. As I said just now that we comment when there is something to comment on.”

Liverpool were also linked with Isak by Sweden’s football channel FotbollSkanalen on Tuesday right after the alleged meeting took place.
