Liverpool and Arsenal are scouting both Port Vale’s Nathan Smith and Charlton Athletic’s Ademola Lookman, according to the Daily Star. Both Premier League clubs had representatives to watch the pair at the match between Vale and the Addicks on Saturday, which Charlton won 2-0.

Winger Lookman has been linked with the two sides for a number of months. Liverpool have history of taking players from Charlton with both Joe Gomez and Jonjo Shelvey joining the Reds in recent years.

Smith meanwhile is a much newer name. The 20 year old had not played for Vale until this season. He has been sent out on loan for the past two years, playing for Stafford Rangers in the 2014/15 season, and playing regularly in the National League for Torquay United last campaign.

This season, manager Bruno Ribeiro picked Smith to start in League One for the first time and he has made 22 appearances in all competitions as his side sit 12th in League One.
