Portuguese newspaper Record believes Liverpool, along with Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid all had scouts at the match between Porto and Benfica at the weekend to watch Porto striker Andre Silva.
Silva has had a blistering start to the Portuguese league season with seven goals in 10 matches, although he did not score in the 1-1 draw at the Estadio do Dragao against Benfica on Sunday.
The 21 year old spent most of last season playing for Porto B in the Portuguese second division but he has had a meteoric rise after breaking through into the first team side this campaign.
In addition to his goals for his club, he was called up back in September for the Portugal national side, coming on as second half substitute against Gibraltar. He then scored his first goal for his country in the 6-0 win over Andorra in October, and followed that up with a hat trick against the Faroe Islands three days later.
