Wisla Krakow haven confirmed that Liverpool have made an “official inquiry” for their academy goalkeeper Bartosz Matoga. The club’s official website for their academy side said that the Reds want the 15 year old to take a nine day trial at Kirkby between the 11th and 20th of November.

According to Tribal football, Matoga impressed Reds scouts at an Under 15 competition earlier in the year where he was named the Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.  At 15 though, the keeper still has a lot to learn and will no doubt be keen to impress during his spell in England at the Academy where he will be assessed by Alex Inglethorpe and his team.

Champions League winner Jerzy Dudek is the only other Polish player to play for Liverpool’s first team, and if his trial is successful, Matoga will be hoping to emulate his fellow countryman if he can make his way through the Reds’ youth ranks.
