The Croatian defender needed to step up with Joel Matip out but he instead shrunk back into a performance we were hoping had gone. In the first half he looked assured enough with the Reds on the front foot but as soon as he needed to take charge and help us see the game out he was left wanting. Hopefully with the return of Matip he’ll return to his standards of this season quickly but Klopp may have to think of a replacement to come in.
