The Reds got back to winning ways last night and boy were we relieved watching on as the action unfolded at the Riverside.
Going into the game against Middlesbrough that annoyingly familiar feeling of previous recent seasons was around in that we were expecting a draw or a loss against the promoted side.
We needn’t have worried though as the performances against Bournemouth and West Ham were quickly forgotten with a controlled and assured performance against the men from Teeside.
Goals from Adam Lallana and Divock Origi sealed a 3-0 win that took us back to second in the league table and now, with six points the gap to leaders Chelsea, we need to really kick on into the Merseyside Derby.
A great evening, then, and here are the three players we think were our best performers last night…
