According to German outlet Bild (via The Express,) Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is going to be handed £40 million by our owners to land potential targets in January.

We’re currently second in the league, of course, and after Chelsea slipped up at Spurs last night, the point we earned against Sunderland doesn’t seem as bad as it initially did.

Indeed, we’re only five points behind the Blues with them still to come to Anfield later this month and so the title race is well and truly alive.

With the likes of Spurs, Arsenal and the two Manchester clubs still about, though, this window could be crucial and so the reported figure of money will hopefully be used to give us an edge.

How Jurgen spends the cash, if he does at all, remains to be seen but given his record in transfer dealings it would be wise to expect smaller fees for players with potential than spending it all on one or two bigger names.

Who would you spend the £40 million on, Reds? Let us know below!
