As quoted by The Liverpool Echo, former Red Momo Sissoko has said that he would like to return to play in the Premier League.

In a story that’s come as a real surprise our former midfielder has said that he feels he can still do a job in the Premier League after being made a free agent by Indian side Pune City.

The rangy midfielder was part of the Reds outfit that won the FA Cup in 2006 against West Ham and joined Juventus after moving on from Anfield.

At 31-years-old he still feels he has plenty to offer, though, and would love a return to these shores.

The cult hero said:

“I am still hungry for football. That’s why I want to be back in Europe.

“Thirty-one is not old. I am not dead!

“I love England. I have had some great moments there. I love the league. I love the intensity of the English game.

“I love everything about the country. That’s why I want to be back there.”

Whether or not the Reds make a move for him remains to be seen but there can be no denying that he still has things to offer in being in his early-30’s.

Perhaps Jurgen Klopp would take him on as back-up but of course the decision is up to him.
