According to Fichajes, the Reds are willing to meet the €40 million (£34.2 million) price tag Bayer Leverkusen have on Javier Hernandez.

The Mexican striker has been with the Bundesliga outfit for the past few seasons after Louis Van Gaal let him go from Manchester United but now it appears a return to these shores could be on the cards.

The forward also has Real Madrid on his CV and if this report is to be believed we will have to battle it out with Chelsea for his signature as they are also keen.

Hernandez has always been a poacher and knows how to score goals in the Premier League, so we wouldn’t have to worry about a settling in period for him.

It might be a little difficult to get over him playing for the Old Trafford club earlier in his career, though, and so that is something Jurgen Klopp and FSG would have to weigh up ahead of any move.

Would you sign him, Reds? Let us know below!
