We don’t mean to go on about it – but the transfer window has really been underwhelming this month.
Target after target seems to have been linked before drifting away from relevance and our performances on the pitch have hardly been a welcome distraction in recent weeks too.
Seeing the back of January, then, can’t come soon enough with Clubcall all but confirming there will be no deals for the Reds in the last few days of the window.
It’s something we expected but are still annoyed by – given the fact that we clearly need new players.
We’ve looked tired and out of ideas many times in the last few games and if this continues for the rest of the season – without squad improvements – it really could go sour rather quickly.
Perhaps there will be some surprise deals but it’s certainly looking less than likely right now.
