Well that was edgy, Reds.
Despite beating Manchester City 1-0 at Anfield last night we certainly didn’t make it easy for ourselves in what was a very tense affair at the top of the league.
After seeing Chelsea beat Stoke earlier in the day we knew we needed to get a win over the Citizens to close the gap to six points and make ourselves the chief challengers to their title surge.
Thankfully, we did, too, as Georginio Wijnaldum’s early goal sealed the deal against a possession obsessed Sky Blues outfit.
We knew how much City were going to try and control the ball under Pep Guardiola but Jurgen Klopp trumped him as the Reds put in a wonderfully disciplined display – if unspectacular.
