Okay, bare with us with this one, but Spanish outlet Okdiario (via French outlet Le 10 Sport,) reckon the Reds are looking into the signing of Nacho from Real Madrid.

Now that’s sorted we can actually get into the nuts and bolts of the piece where we find that, according to the report, the 27-year-old defender is the latest man to solve our current issues at the back – for a fee of €20m (£16.9m.)

The Real Madrid man has often seen playing time limited at the Bernabeu during his stay there but this season things have picked up for him thanks to Pepe and Sergio Ramos’ various misdemeanors and injuries.

He’s done a good job, too, in filling in and could be up for moving to the Reds if more first-team football is what he wants as once Ramos and Pepe come back we can’t see him playing too much.

He’d certainly bring great experience, too, with two Champions League, a Copa del Rey, two Club World Cups and two Super Cups as well as aiming for the league this season.
