According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via football-italia) the Reds are considering a move for Samir Handanovic of Inter Milan.

We’ve had another season of issues in goal this year with Loris Karius failing to convince so far.

Simon Mignolet has been decent enough but he’s still got those mistakes in him, too, and so a new stopper surely wouldn’t be a bad idea in the future.

It would have to be short term with the Inter man as he is getting on in years but his vast experience at the highest level cannot be ignored.

With Inter Milan outsiders for the Champions League places in Italy this season he could be tempted to move, too, particularly if we can return to the competition for next year.

The transfer window has only just ended, of course, but it looks like the summer rumour mill is already getting into gear with this story.
