If there’s one man who has had an up and down season more than most it has to be Emre Can.

The German international has really been through the mill this season with games where he has completely bossed midfield followed by others where he has watched the match pass him by.

Indeed, only recently he has been in the doldrums with his displays – looking lacklustre and slack – but Jordan Henderson’s injury seems to have helped create a u-turn inĀ form for him.

That holding role is obviously his best position and he’s duly shown that with the game against Manchester City the most recent example.

And, in light of this upturn in form, manager Jurgen Klopp has moved to lavish praise on him. He said via The Mirror:

“He was very aggressive, very clear in all challenges. He got one or two fouls, but much more on him. It was a good game.”

Certainly, Can has improved and we only hope it continues for the rest of the season.
