As quoted by Welt am Sonntag (via The Mirror,) Timo Werner has revealed that he does not plan on moving away from Red Bull Leipzig – coming as a blow to Liverpool.

The young striker has an impressive 14 goals in 25 games this season and has looked a real threat with the Bundesliga new-boys uprooting trees in Germany this year – seeing him linked with the Reds by The Mirror.

Indeed, his movement is what makes him a real nuisance but he is still young and that would mean he is a risk to go after should we sign him.

That’s looking unlikely for now anyway, though, with him saying:

“I want to keep growing together with RB Leipzig and keep developing here.”

And, to be fair to him, that’s probably the best way forward. Whilst he’s obviously got talent we want a striker that is fully proven at this level and though he’s had a good season that could mean nothing next year.

Perhaps, then, he’s one to keep tabs on for now.
