Writing in his regular column for The Mirror, Stan Collymore has said that Liverpool – along with the other top clubs – should go after Alexis Sanchez in light of Arsenal’s current issues.
Indeed, whilst all the talk off of the pitch concerned the Chilean being a sub when we played the Gunners at the weekend, we showed on it that we’re better placed to challenge for the top four right now.
Qualify for the Champions League, then, and we’ll surely be able to attract some top stars such as Sanchez in the summer and though there is no concrete interest at the moment, Collymore feels there should be.
He said:
“I am pleading for a Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool – any of the teams to finish in the top four with the money – to go and put in a bid for him, tell him you will put your arm around him and win trophies with him.”
Certainly, getting the Chilean in would boost our title chances for next season though we still want to see an out and out forward to come in and bolster our attack as well as that.
