The Reds have been linked with plenty of players this season but there’s one man we arguably want more than anyone else – Virgil Van Dijk.
Of course, we’ve seen the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also get touted but we’re trying to keep things realistic as much as we’d like the Gabon international.
Van Dijk, though, really could happen with him being the latest player to join from Southampton if he was to agree to come to Merseyside.
And, whilst there’s no inkling that we’re particularly leading the race, it now appears that the Saints are willing to sell the Dutchman.
As per The Telegraph, the defender could now leave the Saints in the summer and though Chelsea are thought to be favourites, if we make the right offer – as well as possibly throw in Mamadou Sakho – we could be on to a winner.
