According to The Liverpool Echo, Jordan Henderson is still nowhere near a return from injury and could now be out for the rest of the season.

The skipper has been out for two and a half months with this latest injury in a campaign that has been hit by a number of fitness issues.

His influence on the team, of course, has been missed given that he is the man who helps things tick over in midfield and it now appears we’re going to be without that for the rest of this year.

Indeed, the former Sunderland man is still on crutches and has been told to keep weight off of his injured foot, leaving many to wonder just when he’ll return.

The Reds, of course, have struggled with a thin squad this season and this latest news has to come as another blow ahead of the crescendo of the year.
