The Reds’ squad is once again looking thin and we can only hope that it’s not going to derail our top four campaign as we enter the final stages of the season.

After beating Everton and getting a draw at Manchester City we were hoping that the squad would be at at least close to full-strength as we headed towards the final games of the season.

Instead, though, the Reds have been hampered by losing Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and now Sadio Mane in recent times meaning we’re looking very thin on the ground.

Fortunately, though, Emre Can and Joel Matip do seem to be fit and that can only be a good thing – as per Jurgen Klopp via the club’s official website:

“Emre has kind of a full body bruise. Everywhere.

“We left him out [of training] on Monday because he had back pain, knee pain. Nothing serious, thank God. Really, he has knocks everywhere. I hope he will be fit.

“Joel had a little bit of a back problem or two. He saw the doctor before training so we will see. He should be OK.”

Well, that is some relief and we can only hope that there’s not going to be any more injuries before the end of the season.
