Sometimes, transfer rumours go out of the window as quick as they came in and that certainly appears to have been the case with Douglas Costa.
The Bayern Munich man has been out of favour at times this season under Carlo Ancelotti, cuing a rumour to emerge that Liverpool were in the race to sign him.
Now, though, as The Liverpool Echo go on to report, that potential deal looks, perhaps unsurprisingly, dead in the water.
Indeed, speaking to Sport1 and as quoted by The Echo, the Brazilian winger’s personal trainer no less has come out to deny such talk.
He said:
“Douglas will not go to Liverpool, he prefers to stay at Bayern Munich. It’s a good life here.”
Well, there we are, though we can’t say we got overly into this rumour as, whilst it was an impressive sounding deal, it really did come out of the blue.
