We’ve been sweating on Sadio Mane’s injury for some time since the weekend and it now appears that things are worse than first feared.

The Merseyside Derby was its usual physical self at the weekend as we overcame Everton 3-1 during a game that saw the likes of Dejan Lovren and Emre Can on the end of nasty challenges.

Mane, though, was the one to suffer the worst knock despite the winger actually being involved in a far more innocuous looking coming together.

And, whilst we wait for the scan he’s gone for to come back, The Telegraph reckons the Reds are concerned that the Senegalese winger could be out for the rest of the season.

Bad news for sure, then, and we can only hope the likes of Philippe Coutinho step up and take the bull by the horns in this Champions League race.
