According to readliverpoolfc.com, Virgil Van Dijk has agreed to join Liverpool as long as the club finishes in the top four this season.
It’s been a deal that has been mooted for some time this season and it now appears that it could come to pass as long as the Reds stay inside those Champions League spots.
It doesn’t take much to acknowledge that finishing in the top four and playing in Europe’s premier competition is a big draw for the best players and that is something we have missed out on in recent seasons.
If we win our final three games, though, we will be able to attract the best stars once more and Dutch international Van Dijk is certainly an example of that.
He would surely start in our defence and alongside Joel Matip should make for a rather impressive centre-half pairing.
