The future of Lucas Leiva seems to be undecided majorly at the moment and so, naturally, he is getting linked with plenty of clubs with the summer window now open.

The experienced Brazilian has celebrated 10 years at the club recently but it looks as though he could be on the way out with many sides getting linked with him.

Indeed, it’s unlikely he’s going to be a regular for the club anymore and so, with that in mind, it would be understandable if he did want to leave.

And, according to The Northern Echo, Newcastle are interested in signing him up.

Rafa Benitez, of course, manages the Magpies and signed the Brazilian for the Reds all those years ago.

It would be a reunification for the pair, then, and his experience could help them on their return to the top division.
