Out of nowhere yesterday the Reds made a bid for Thomas Lemar – followed by an improved one – as we aimed to make a big statement before Deadline Day.
Certainly, it came as a big surprise to many but it’s certainly been a welcome one with Lemar proving to be one of the top young stars in Europe last season for Monaco.
Indeed, it makes sense that the club rejected both our bids for the winger but it is apparent that the Reds really do want him before the window and so it seems as though we shouldn’t give up on the idea just yet.
Indeed, according to L’Equipe via Srijandeep Das on Twitter negotiations are rumbling on:

The Reds haven’t given up just yet, then, and we’re hoping that the club is going to produce the goods and get him signed before Deadline Day.
