Without wanting to sound too over the top, it looks as though these final few days in the transfer market are going to be as hectic as the ones in January 2011.
We all know, of course, what happened back then as Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll arrived whilst Fernando Torres left the club and these next two days could match that for big stories.
Certainly, we’re not expecting any big departures (i.e. Philippe Coutinho) but there could be big arrivals with the one we want most of all, Virgil van Dijk, still on the cards.
Indeed, according to The Daily Mail, the Reds are still more than keen on the Dutch defender in a move that would really transform our side.
And, according to the report, it could come as part of a huge spending spree that could top £200 million with the likes of Thomas Lemar and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain linked – as well as the signing of Naby Keita.
