Make no mistake, Jurgen Klopp wanted a box-to-box midfielder this summer and so far the club has failed to deliver that.

It makes sense as to why he wants one, too.

None of our players in the middle of the park are capable of being both offensively and defensively supreme with Emre Can better shielding, Gini Wijnaldum better at bombing on and Jordan Henderson the one who’s meant to set the tempo with the ball.

We need a yo-yo in the middle of the park, then, and Naby Keita was obviously the one to fulfill that requirement but we all know how that’s gone this summer.

It appears, though, that the Reds are going for Jean Michaël Seri of Nice as an alternative – as per The Guardian – with his dynamic displays impressing in Ligue 1.

Will we manage to get such an important part of Klopp’s plans in at this late stage, though? Perhaps if we’re held to ransom…

Thoughts, Reds? Let us know below!
