According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, Liverpool want to sign Ivan Rakitic from Barcelona if Philippe Coutinho goes the other way.
The Reds have started the season in decent enough fashion – though their defence still needs some work – and it certainly looks as though there is still things to be resolved away from the pitch.
Indeed, Philippe Coutinho’s future is still hanging over us and it really is up for debate as to where he’s going to end up with him apparently pushing for a move to Barcelona.
The Reds, though, have a plan for that and it seems as though the Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic could be part of the bargain that the club wants.
Certainly Rakitic is a world class midfielder in the middle of the park with his passing ability and we’d be intrigued to see how he fitted in.
