According to La Repubblica – via Talksport – reported Liverpool target Stefan de Vrij has been offered a contract by his current club Lazio and is poised to sign it.
The Reds have been linked with plenty of players over the summer with some getting more airtime than others since the window opened.
Indeed, our rumoured interest in de Vrij has not been massively prevalent this year but there has been hints at it nevertheless.
Certainly, it makes sense for that to be the case with our defensive weaknesses but this one looks set to not happen.
It remains to be seen, then, if we do sign a centre-half before the end of the window with one man’s name on everyone’s minds – Virgil van Dijk.
