According to Catalan newspaper Sport – via inside futbol – Philippe Coutinho is considering trying to avoid playing for Liverpool in our Champions League fixtures.
The Reds midfielder has had plenty of speculation surrounding him in recent times and though the transfer window is shut now, it seems as though the rumours are only going to continue.

Indeed, with this report in mind it seems as though he has not given up on his apparent dream of playing for the Catalans though we would wonder whether the locality of the outlet reporting the story has something to do with things.
Certainly, Coutinho might be unhappy he didn’t get to move but we don’t think he’s a hugely unprofessional player and so to not play in the Champions League to avoid being cup-tied ahead of a theoretical move just doesn’t seem in his character.
Ultimately, though, time will tell.
