As quoted by the club’s official website, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has revealed that one of the most impressive players at the club at the moment, he feels, is new signing Andrew Robertson.
The former Arsenal midfielder was signed in the summer window with him likely aiming to compete for our central midfield positions but it’s also well documented that he can play down the wings, too.
For sure, then, if he does end up out wide on occasion for us, it seems as though he is happy that he could be playing on the same side as Robertson, instead of against him.

‘The Ox’ said when asked who he’s been impressed with during his short time at the club:
“You mentioned the attack and everyone, but the full-backs are very attacking as well. You’ve just brought in Robbo, who I’ve played against a number of times and have had to track him back that way – when I played against Hull he had me running backwards a lot because he’s so attacking!”
Certainly, the Scottish full-back might not be the first man that comes to mind when you think of our attacking options but he has impressed in his early minutes for the club and we’re certainly happy to hear that he could give opponents nightmares this season.
