As per a report from the Daily Star, Emre Can apparently wants a release clause in any new contract that he signs with the Reds.
The German international has started in good form this year and has really stepped up to the plate in the middle of midfield.

For sure, then, the club would like to keep him past the end of this season – when his current deal runs out – but it seems as though we’re at a bit of an impasse in terms of the situation right now.
Indeed, Can wants a release clause in his new deal but the club does not want to put anything of the sort in according to the report and so it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached.
Certainly, it’s not an ideal time to be at this point with less than a year to go and so we’re hoping something gets sorted soon.
